Although it has been a dizzying attempt for me to incorporate many new skills and ideas, teaching the HaKivun program this past year has been one of the most thrilling and gratifying experiences I have had in my 10 years of teaching. I feel empowered by the enthusiastic reactions of my students, and my own life has been immeasurably enriched. The program is an invaluable legacy – one that promises to have a powerful impact on our students specifically, and on the whole of Klal Yisroel at large.

Shortly after I began the training, I knew this was what I had been looking for. No fireworks, or thunderbolts of “new and different.” Just solid and simple (though brilliant in its simplicity): engaging the minds of the students and guiding them to think, to question, and how to question. There is nothing in the world like those spine-tingling moments in the classroom, when my students discover the light of Torah the way they should , and their faces light up in the joy of learning.

I had often attended workshops that were inspiring and left me motivated but that did not provide the “how” to achieve the goals. After going through the curriculum, and seeing you demonstrate the methodology so we could have an idea of the caliber of teaching we should strive for, I am filled with a sense of direction, of excitement, and of renewed appreciation for my role as a teacher.
